From August 9 to 13, 2017
Québec, October 17th 2016 – Located in downtown Old Québec, the 2017 edition of the New France Festival marks the 21th anniversary of the festivities. This event inspired by the lives of the first European settlers boasts an ideal backdrop: Quebec City, one of the most historically significant cities in North America. In the very festive year of Canada’s 150th anniversary, the Festival will be held from August 9 to 13, 2017.
The festival features a series of ongoing activities including parades in period costumes, performances of all sorts and original activities for foodies. The French pioneers influenced the evolution of not just New France, but of all America, which is why Quebec City remains a reference for the 30 million French speakers across the continent.
Celebrate our Joie de vivre
The New France also is your chance to celebrate! The program features musical performances on the TD Stage, a barbecue that derives inspiration from Celtic, Acadian and Wendat cuisine, a festive area at the Auberge SAQ and many counters where you can taste local products.
